virtually presenting for 10th grade AP Biology - Fall 2020

I believe that it is a scientist’s duty not only to research and reveal, but to also to share that research with the public - to share ownership of new knowledge and engage the next generation. As a new professional entering the current scientific career field, I aim to make time for virtual/in-person opportunities working with local educators & nature programs.

I have experience as a North Carolina SciFest presenter, as well as being a guest speaker for both middle and high school biology courses. I thoroughly enjoy sharing research with students, as I hope to encourage young people to consider pursuing a rewarding career in the life sciences!

“I wanted to send this email additionally to thank you all for providing the students with such a unique opportunity. It is remarkable how the scientist, Mrs. Baker, and you all have worked so hard to help teachers like me provide these students an opportunity to learn from the best of the best even when our classes are hybrid these days. I cannot thank you and my scientist enough for providing such an engaging presentation.”

— Mrs. Bhandari, 6th grade science teacher (Reedy Creek Middle School)

I am happy & eager to work with local educators & nature programs on developing teaching material, class activities and connecting the public with access to a network of local scientists.

Please feel free to contact me anytime to create & coordinate outreach opportunities!
